omg so missing the musical now! i miss the drama centre, the stage, the backstage, the dressing room, the corridor, the green room, the rehearsals, the lunch + dinner [ok not really]... most importantly, I MISS THE FUN OF WORKING WITH THE CAST AND OTHER PERFORMING GROUPS!! it's so saddening lah.fine, maybe i said in some of my previous posts that i hate the musical and rehearsals. is it too late to take back what i said? hope not. because i seriously love'em!
THURSDAY:
went to the drama centre for the 1st time. at 1st i didn't really like it cuz the dressing room was too crowded for 60+ people. haha lucky they split us in matinee and gala, so there would be fewer people on the actual day. waited for like 2 hour plus before we ate lunch. watched some people play psp, chatted, goofed with my phone etc. some guys + mr yeo also came in to take some photos and do an interview with daryl, debra and suetyee. it was strange, cuz they told us they were filming this thing called "Where's Alvin?" or something like that. damn funny when they acted out a part of it. super exaggerated. too bad i forgot whether it was before or after lunch time.
after lunch, we started the rehearsals. they tested the sound and lights. super cool man! the tech there is wayyyy better than our school's one. everything was so dark when they off the lights to change scene. the backstage had some spooky green lights. i played with my shadow while waiting. goofed some more with tingying by saying things like "i want to be a CIRCLE or SQUARE or TRIANGLE?!" and kicked mr gay's thighs and side-butt 3 or 4 times. haha it was pretty interesting to hear him say "ouch!" in a high voice.
rehearsals ended fast on thursday.
FRIDAY:
went back to drama centre. did pretty much the same things, but waited shorter cuz everyone had adjusted to the place already. some issues for the day was that the dance people were unhappy at us for some weird reasons, ms lini wanted senior girls to wear the choir gown for "i want to be a star" jazz version and we protested cuz it'll look weird for "change the world" and "i want to be a star" finale where we have to dance?! ok that sentence was pretty long. summary: WE DON'T WANNA WEAR THAT GOWN FOR A FAST DANCING SONG! the leaders tried convincing but to no avail. that's that. i felt so frigging pissed when we did our 3rd rehearsal for the day. almost cried lah.
and the music director left early to attend to some family matters. so they had to just... i dono... play some other version? "job well done" was really fast! all of us felt the endorphins after we finished that number.
rehearsals also ended fast on friday.
SATURDAY!:
ahhh the day of performance! i felt so freaking excited, yet calm. dono why. did some last minute rehearsals and changed and put makeup. it's official! i look weird in makeup. after that, just watched other people do their makeup and stuff. oh yea i also got erika to do eye shadow. thanks man! she's a PRO. ate lunch. it was gross cuz i had lip gloss on my spoon. lucky i didn't expel my lunch.
did the matinee performance. it was F-U-N!!! even though not many people showed up. we waited backstage at like 2.10pm. my heart was thumping but i felt normal in my head. my hands were cold too. shared hand warmth with shervin and clarissa. thanks you 2 too! when it started, i just let out all my energy and got high! wow it's super duper wooper looper gooper tooper fun lah! it didn't feel like we were really performing. rushed back to change after the 1st song. "job well done" was cool too! many people laughed at the ahlian song. i like that. it's kinda cute.
the performance was a success! hmm actually wearing gown to dance wasn't that bad. just hope that you don't fall in those heels! everyone cheered and clapped after the matinee show. me and some of my choir mates did a group hug [me, clarissa, tingying, chelyn, crystal, shervin, huixin etc...] there was a meet-the-audience session after the performance. i hugged seowhwee, and that idiot sebastian kept saying some stuff that i shall not mention o.o took photo with huixin, jasmine and siying.
went back to the dressing room. forgot to mention just now that the whole place reminded me of a hotel without beds. it's really interesting. ate lunch at 4.30pm?! we totally wasted the food cuz we weren't really hungry. i wasted my fish and rice [even though i didn't really want the fish anyway]. but whatever.
touched up makeup again. then sat down and watched the crew people do their makeup. omg they're more vain than us! the makeup was so thick, they remind me of those wayang opera thingys. ms michael and some other teachers came to do makeup for us. chelyn and i managed to escape. our makeup wasn't see-able but we didn't want more, so yea. we sat at the corridor for almost 2 hours, talking about the sky colour which didn't change for 1 and a half hours and penguin shit and very regular 10 minute intervals. she's really random. i talked to claudia too. she kept complaining that she couldn't watch the musical. and so we just waited and waited and waited... till it was 7pm. some sec 3s came out and we sang songs. that really killed time.
at last, we could go on standby for gala. the crew had to clean off their makeup cuz it wasn't allowed. aww tooo baaadddd!~ the performance was SOOO COOOL as it was almost full house! everyone had fun on stage like there was no tomorrow. there was confetti at the finale!
but like they say, all good things must come to an end. we all felt kinda sad when it was over. i almost cried. i think clarissa almost cried too but she denied. rachel ang cried. some dancers also cried. i was crying in my mind. we group hugged again, now with more people. mrs wong was there! that's totally awesome. cheered and cheered some more. alex, music director, ms lini etc did some sort of concluding speech. felt even sadder. choir did area cleaning for everyone! nothing much to pick up anyway.
met wantian downstairs. she gave me a big flower [it's real]. hugged her too. met daddy. he picked me up. didn't bathe cuz i was so sleepy. but did bathe this morning lah. [if i keep putting fullstops, means that i'm feeling sad again] aww man back to studies. needa catch up with TONS of undone homework. i'll wait till i'm 65, then i can watch hihs's 100th anniversary musical as an audience.
it may be over, but memories of it will be etched in my mind for a long long time. i'm good at remembering experiences. tha's a good thing. another good thing is that everyone is in the same school, so it's actually not very sad as we can see each other any time. too bad there won't be a chance like that anymore.
this post is almost as long as camp posts.

went to singapore flyer with my ang moh cousin and his parents. of course, my family went along too. it's really high, but really slow too. we left house to pick them up at 5pm. then we went to the entrance of the singapore flyer. daddy was so frustrated cuz at first, he couldn't find the entrance and went 1 big round and we were sorta late. i was frustrated too! everyone kept rushing me when we were still at home and my phone was dead so i couldn't sms along the way or take pictures. dumb. got a little carsick cuz i was concentrating on squeezing my foot into my shoe. people get carsick when they are reading, i get carsick when i look at my shoes?! haha that's funnily strange :Das i was saying, we went on the giant ferris wheel thingy. as we got higher, the air got thinner. hmm maybe it's just my imagination but whatever, i felt it. we could see the NDP rehearsals from above. kinda like a sneak preview of the sneak preview. my auntie took some photos too. she said i look sexy?! like wtf i hate sexy. on the way down, it was kinda boring, except for the fact that it looks like we were riding on the pirate ship. the ride ended fast, even though it was moving slow. now what kinda logic is that?
picked up grandparents and went for dinner at big eater. it's somewhere in changi or something. i don't know, i'm not a street directory. the food was chopstick-licking gooooood!!! i can't say "finger-licking" cuz we didn't eat with our fingers... except for the crab.
omg school starts tomorrow! so unfair i haven't got time to enjoy my holidays or do homework cuz of musical! this sucks. everyone else has enjoyed themselves except for me. i want school tomorrow to be as messed up as possible. oh pretty pretty please with cherries and frosting and lotsa lotsa cream and chocolate shavings on top :P

today was the first day of the nyec torch relay, and also marks the coming of the nyec event this saturday. woo! i'm kinda excited :D yesterday we were all busy calling each other to confirm stuff like where we were supposed to meet, what time etc... so it was a bit of a confusion.i woke up at 8.45am. ok that's not really important but nevermind... had a giant bowl of fried rice with ketchup for breakfast. that's not important either zzz -.-" changed into that bright green "green virus" shirt. haiz should've taken m size. s is just right for me, but i like big shirts. oh well, i just have to hope that this shirt expands instead of shrinks when i wash it. felt weird when i was on my way to choir cuz i was so bright, LITERALLY! some people were looking when i walked by, plus that giant nyec sign... wow. i'm a walking advertisement.
reached choir, did warmups blah blah... haha at least my... *ahem* ok nevermind :P daryl and i left choir at 2.25pm cuz we had to meet the rest of the people at hougang mall. it's wasn't hard spotting them. everyone looked so bright in the green shirt! i need my shades. me, anne and daryl bought bubbletea. haha mine's green apple ice blended with a green straw. hey i'm "environmentally friendly" with all that green stuff. we separated with the other team at 2.45pm. me, wantian, anne and daryl took bus 80 and changed to 76 afterwards. we called the hwa chong sec person along the way. guess what? he's a guy! all along i thought it's a girl cuz of the name. names are deceiving.
we all met at vjc at around 4pm. got a call from the previous team that they'll be 20mins late. so much for worrying about being late o.o took a few photos and we went on our way. took bus to some place, then trained to somewhere else. i sorta forgot everything, except that the train was so freaking crowded. oh and we travelled with 3 facills - qianyi, jarrett and kane. they're really nice (: so after we trained, we walked really far. daryl was trying to promote the nyec event by screaming. something like "14 JUNE AT HOUGANG MALL! COME AND SUPPORT US! NATIONAL ENVIROLYMPICS CHALLENGE!" haha yep. me, wantian and anne were laughing. ooh i forgot to mention what the torch looks like. it's this silver thing which is decorated with leaves and has a light bulb as a "flame". and it looks like a lamp post from afar. really heavy too. i had to carry it with 2 hands.
i'm too lazy to post all the details about the journey. the main points are:
it's really long [3 hours!]
we walked, bussed and trained for the longest time possible [and hence the 3 hours]
the previous grp was delayed cuz of the stupid media! [everything was delayed from the beginning and the facills kept talking about it]
so that's pretty much it. we reached our final point [boon lay] at 7.30pm or so. the next grp actually delivered the torch quite fast cuz when i called shiq at 8.15pm, she said that they just got the torch. hmm i'm thinking whether it's because they skipped the woodlands bit, but whatever. oh on our way home, those other 3 fellas called shiqi's grp and were very sacarstic. haha it's quite fun listening to their reactions :D
my mum finally bought the suspender shorts!

small letters today cuz i feel totally weird. had musical rehearsals on monday and wednesday, kinda failure but i don't freaking give a damn. that asshole of an idiot alex made us do funny stuff, which was really hard cuz he doesn't know our arrangement and other stuffs. so blah just went on... the most boring time of my life. also did recording for the korea trip. let's just say that it turned out hmm... the most disgusting thing since stretchable condoms. yep that's right. tomorrow there's rehearsal again and we're supposed to wear our '60s apparel! oh yuck.back to today(: wore my retainers for most of today [i got them yesterday at ndc, and they so hurt like mad-.-]. tried killing time by doing sudoku and watching tv. maybe i'll stop sudoku for now cuz it's really making my eyes hurt. everytime i close my eyes i see sudoku puzzles, so i figured i should cut down or even stop it. music lesson at 3.15pm. reached sorta on time [maybe only 10mins late]. learnt/ learned some more things.
after music i went to ntuc to buy that chocolate tubey thing. it's really nice. this china man came up to me and asked what was the "$2" for. you see, the "$2" was on the paper thingy used to tell people how much is the product. i told him that it's 1 pack [6 packets] of drink is $2. he said ok, and to my utter horror he took those giant cartons of lemon barley that haven't been sorted out yet! like maybe 8 or 9 giant cartons. wow i hope he didn't misunderstand and thought that 1 giant carton is $2!
paid for my chocolate and went home by another alternate route. since there was a whole lotta traffic, i said "oh god please protect me", then i came to this junction. there were 2 cross-the-road thingys. i pressed the traffic light for the wrong one... so the cars stopped and wondered why i didn't cross. it was then that i saw that the correct traffic light was somewhere in front of me. omg i felt so embarrassed! sms-ed daffy to distract myself from reality. after crossing the seemingly endless road, i came to that turn-in at flower road. again i said "oh god please protect me", and just before i crossed the road, i saw my music teacher driving in. i felt seriously weird. hahs didn't know she stayed nearby.
then i walked on and met this man. he said he was going to social welfare at clementi ave 3 but has no money in his ezlink and asked if i could spare him 5 or 10 bucks. i cant be too sure, but i thought that he was a cheat. i mean, will a real beggar who is desperate for money ask for a specific amount? i managed to shake him off by saying that i was out of bacon when i actually had $50 for my own expenses. reached home safely. phew!
random stuff: [you must read it or i'll smack you!]
i have trouble saying "s", "sh" and "ch".
what's with people saying that they want braces? it's super mafan lah.
my mum wants to buy me this shorts with suspenders.
until now she hasn't done so.
damn all that holiday homework.
tingying owes me two big ones for helping her twice in a day.
bugs rocks.
daffy sucks.
my hp is brown if you haven't noticed.
not many people have this brown model.
wearing sec 2 camp shirt now.
it's comfortable.
and orange.
i like orange.
i like green apples too.
eating them now.
i shall stop here.
bye.

Woke up today feeling happier than usual. Dono why. Hahs:D Went to my grandma's house for lunch and also to pick out some "groovy" '60s clothes for the musical. Yea looks like grandma is my saviour! Ole~ Tried on some combos which were seriously ridiculous lah! But hey, it's suppose to be '60s so, whatever... The verdict? Lol I'm wearing a plain white top with a polka-dotted jacket over, pants that are somehow like skinnies except that it's a little looser, and this giant bow clip just above my ponytail. Everything is black and white and it's pretty retro. Really. Left grandma's at 4pm.Received a call from Tingying, and she said that she was DESPO for '60s stuff [emphasize on the "despo"]. Being generous and good-hearted, I met with her at Heartland Mall to lend her a top and a belt. I am sooooo good! Haha just kidding. She came over to my place to try on the thing cuz my mum said it would be weird to try it on at Heartland Mall toilet. True lah. We laughed along the way cuz this was her 2nd time here, but for both times that she did pretty weird things i.e. 1st time was when she needed a Kawai piano to practise for exam, and today she came just to try on some clothes. After trying, we sat in my room and
Tomorrow is the integrated rehearsals for the musical. Oh boy hope Alex only asks us to show the clothes and not wear them. It's just so crappy. When this musical is over, I'll have one burden less and more breathing space. Thank heavens!
