whee!~ today's the last day of 2008 :D tomorrow, it'll be 2009 and i'll be looking forward to my 16th birthday, which will be in 10 months time. haha annabel's birthday is just round the corner. what does that signify? nothing ;D

i got some super cool news! my sis is coming to HI! woohoo! it's a funny story actually. everything happened yesterday.
*mummy calls HI office in the morning*
mum: hello. i was wondering if my child got in.
lady at the phone: sorry not successful.
mum (a bit irritated): how you know who am i?
lady at the phone: if you didn't receive a call from us, means not successful.

aren't they rude? what happened to customer service? so my mum totally confirmed that sis was not in HI. then they went to greendale to buy books and uniform, which by the way looks kinda "maid-like" - quoted from grandma.

then sometime in late afternoon...
*sam at friend's house doing stuff*
sis (over the phone): wei dajie! you got size 24 HI skirt?
sam: huh? why you want?
sis: aiya just answer me lah!
sam: is it for your friend?
sis: don't tell you!
sam: tell me!
sis: ok lah. i got into HI!
sam (a bit suspicious but am chio-ing): sure anot? don't bluff me leh!
sis: really!
*sam hangs up the phone and goes all excited!*

turns out it really is true. some other kid somehow decided to back out, so my sister got the spot! ok another funny bit.
*mum calls dad*
mum: hey erjie got into dajie's school. should i accept?
dad (without hesitation): YES!

mummy was a bit reluctant because everything's been bought already. what's she gonna do with all the greendale books? i have no idea. darn why can't i do sec1 camp? seriously.

my sister's all excited about coming HI too. in fact, she's SO excited till she's asking stuff like "jie, can i use black pen?" and "jie, does your school use green pen to do corrections?" i was like o.o oh well. i'll be going to school with her this friday! please come and say "hi", or else she'll feel out of place, ok? haha.

new year resolutions:
1) stop procrastinating.
2) do and pass up my homework on time.
3) don't bully my sister in HI, only at home. *chuckles*
4) clean up my room so my brother will remove the "MR MESSY" colour-in at my door.
5) make at least 10 new friends :D

HAPPY ALMOST-NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

PSL camp was darn good fun. wanna hear my story? it's like doing a reflection :/

DAY ONE:
reached school at like 7.20am and saw all the other PSLs in the canteen erm ... mingling? yep. gathered at the parade square according to our class we're taking. oh man it's back to the charity. 2charity'09 some more! wait till they find out i'm taking them again. gahh D: i want fresh faces! i want sec1s! ok anyway, people in the same group were shiqi (the other already-taken-charity person o.o), sherman, chengen, rebecca, benjamin, jiayi and jiayun. at first, the only people i knew were shiqi, chengen and rebecca. but after playing some icebreakers in the hall, i guess everyone started to know each other.

after the icebreakers, we had the rules and expectations thing. wow that was really long, but still really important :D haha. CCI workshop came next. our trainer, ethan, was quite the crapper XD he kept joking with the PC and some others like fucheng and ivan. he split us into 8 groups, then each of his facilitators were assigned to 1 group. then, in our groups, using 30 straws and 4 rubber bands, we had to come up with a thingamajig that can shoot a pingpong ball. our group did... haha :D he also did power-teaching with us. he says it's adopted from the US. quite effective i must say.

lunch was TOTURE. ok it's not the food. the food was awesome :D some fellow from our table kept saying totally random stuff to make us laugh and choke! it was like funny, yet disturbing o.o and someone else is racist ==" anyway, at least we had some "entertainment" :D

we played station games after lunch. they were all the traditional ones that i've been playing since don't know when. HI Ladder was a torture because chengen was SOOOO heavy o.o i almost toppled D: Soapy Maths was darn fun, but also darn tough because most of the guys were on the other team, therefore they won most of the time. then there was jiayi, who was darn afraid of water or something. she was in the same team as me and she was #1. ziying kept calling her number and mine (#2) together so that she would participate. but most of the time, i was the only one wrestling for the soap o.o well i don't blame her or anything. oh and 3 Minutes No NG was quite gross as we had to transfer super salt water from one bottle to another with our mouths. the feeling was like... omgosh.

then we had the yet another classic nightwalk! i paired with jiayi. our first route was down the basement, which is also the freakiest. i shan't say much in case some sec1s, like my sister's classmates who are coming to HI read this post, then i'll spoil the surprise D: just wanna emphasise that jiayi and i fell down the basment steps and landed on our bums.

after nightwalk, we had 45 minutes to do our campfire prep. we were blank at first, but somehow or another, the totally genius ME suddenly thought of something random like powerpuff girls (there was no theme, so we could be as random as we could). the others thought it was a good idea, so we did power PSLs! just in case PPG was copyrighted or something like that. hahhs ;D

a fruitful day indeed ;D

DAY TWO:
woke up BRIGHT and SUPER early at 6.18am! ok it wasn't really bright. assembled at 7.30am for morning PT, which was to learn the mass dance! it's the Mamma Mia song thingy. shouldn't spoil the surprise again D: but the steps are cool! i think the PC mistook "jive" for "drive" though.

then there was the SEL workshop conducted by russell and melvin. some parts were a bit boring, some parts were not. but anyway, we learnt the importance of SEL and how we can apply it while doing PSL duty. the five aspects are social awareness, self awareness, responsible decision making, relationship management and self management. haha :D

lunch was funny (actually i didn't get why my table was laughing at me).
*sherman and chengen randomly mentioning something about vibrators*
sam (out of curiousity): what are vibrators?
*whole table stares at sam, then bursts out in laughter*
*sam gave the weird look*
benjamin/chengen: you mean you don't know?
sam: heard before only.
jiayi: want me to explain?
sam: you have ah?
*whole table laughs even harder and starts choking on rice*

CCI workshop again after the SEL workshop. we did more power-teaching, and we played teambuilding games after lunch! there were 4 in all, and they were all quite tough. the first one was Water Elevator, whereby we had to transport a pail of water from one end of the parade square to another using our legs, and our stomachs had to be facing the sky. and after reaching the end, we had to remove our shoes and socks without putting down the pail. it was like... painful.

the 2nd game was Poison River, whereby we had to cross the parade square while stepping on newspapers. easy? not really because we couldn't communicate and the facilitators had every right to confiscate newspapers that were not occupied. in the end, inglee, huibing and i squeezed on one paper, lydia was stuck between 2 papers and melvin threw his shoes at pearlyn o.o

the 3rd game was Floating Apples, whereby we had to pick 5 apples from a pail of water and finish all 5. it looked damn wrong when you see 2 guys/girls trying to bite the apple from each others' mouths, but who cares? :D the weirdest part was when my lips touched huibing's lips when i was trying to bite the apple from her! the feeling was really... erm... gross :/ i, for one, am not a lesbian. neither is she. stupid gerald kept asking dionne to take pictures of us cuz he thought we looked funny D:

the last game was Fill It Up, whereby we were supposed to fill a bottle containing a pingpong ball, to the brim so that the ball will fall out, using a "Holy (holey) Cup". the holes were like bead sized. the person holding the cup was not allowed to move his/her position. every group manipulated the cup by stuffing socks or anything that can absorb. it was quite irritating as lydia and huibing were trying to use the guys' shirts to wring the water out, but the ball was still in. then, melvin came with water in his mouth, and with one spit, he managed to get it! woohoo~! even though we didn't get 1st place for any of the games, we sure had loads of fun ;D

we played Green Revolution after that. it was like Dawn Of War, except that there were recycling concepts in it. i was in Yellow Union, along with the other charity PSLs, unity PSLs and hope PSLs. being an engineer, it wasn't really easy as most of the soldiers were out in the parade square fighting to the death, therefore there was no one to protect the engineers when they went around securing checkpoints, recycling centres and collecting recyclables. vivienne and i kept asking for soldiers. they followed at first, but they got distracted when another soldier came running by. anyway, war games like that are always fun :D

campfire was after that! haha it was loads of fun! everyone was so high, even the stars were shining brightly. aww... the funniest bit was when we played some fashion show thing, then people were supposed to contribute items to those who were the models. JUST SO HAPPEN i was sitting beside benjamin, while sherman and chengen were in front of us. then the emcees asked for 5 shirts, and all 3 of them took theirs off. i was like o.o jiayi was behind me, and i turned to look at her. she gave me that totally weird face.
jiayi: wei! turn back lah. face the front.
*sam refuses, because...*
sam (whispers in a joking manner): don't want! later i get too excited!
*jiayi, thinking it's real, goes all wide-eyed and starts laughing*
*then ivan, behind jiayi, starts laughing and making fun of sam*
*then ivan tells pearlyn, and everyone around there makes fun of sam*
*sam goes all red and looks at the stars instead*
that was one of the most embarrassing experiences ever!

supper was awesome! we ate macs ;D then shiqi wrapped her burger with tissue, and someone started thinking weirdly and asked what it looked like. i said it was 2 testicles joined together and eveyone laughed again! and all the funny stuff, like have i seen a ___insert choice body part here___ came out again. gahh. it's always me! oh benjamin should stop hitting my sunburned arms D:

another fruitful day :D

DAY THREE:
phew finally the last day of camp! woke up bright, but not early. it was 7am! panicked a little, but i still made it on time :D yay me. had first aid talk done by melvin. everyone kept shooting questions about this and that and blah. haha i guess everyone really wants to take precautions. oh well. did area cleaning while the sec1 PSLs had a briefing. the toilets were quite gross. why do girls' hairs keep dropping! why can't our hair be like the guys? they have it so easy. and nope, i won't shave, if that's what you're thinking ;D we also had to write to our mortals. mine was gabriel. haha. he kept saying "good morning/night/afternoon" to me. wonder if he already knew? hmm.

broke camp in AVA 1, came home, and dozed till 9pm (i bathed before that).

darn the USB.

somehow or another, i managed to find my p6 classmates' blogs! haha thank you sister, and google search engine :D i should add them to my links, shouldn't i? heehee ok i shall do that. and during my blog-hopping, i discovered our 6charity'05 blog! woah i didn't know we have a blog! i feel so betrayed D: or maybe it's because i didn't have a blog last time o.o it hasn't been updated since 13 may 2007. actually that's not too bad, considering that it was created in 2005/2006. hopefully they'll remember me when i tag ;D

ok, back to linking work and facebook! (pet society's undergoing maintenance D:)

my 2nd post of the day :D somehow...

p.s it's strangely exciting how all my ex-classmates love using navigational blogs o.o

4:41 PM

hello people :D i know it's an awkward timing to blog, but it's kinda like a habit now.

anyway, see my title? nope it's not a real leaking tap in my house. it's my darn it nose (actually come to think of it, my house tap did leak last week, and my dad had to tun off the water supply to our house. hoho.) and nope *again* i ain't caught the nasty flu bug. somehow or another, i breathed in soap when i was showering. the feeling was totally worse than breathing in water. my nose was in total pain and i almost cried. then my nose started leaking you-know-what, and i hurried with the massive amounts of tissues (still going on now as i type.) sneezed a whole lotta crap. my mum asked what happened.

mum: aiyo, what happen?
sam (with rudolph nose and teary eyes): i breathed in face soap, now my nose is irritated and i can still smell the soap.
mum: how can? you bathe upside-down issit?
-silence-
*sam gives a big HAAA-CHEWWWW!~*
grandma (oh so random while watching the tellie): throw your clothes in the machine properly hor.
*sam, still silent and tomato-like, dumps her clothes in the wash.*

so that's pretty much the whole scenario of what happened around 10 something. i'm feeling a lot better now, but it's still kinda flowy, yet a little blocked. oh the suckish irony.

on the contrary... HOORAY! all my good budds are back from ___insert choice country here___. at least life won't be so boring now. only one problem: i'm the only one who goes online when everyone's about to go beddy-bye. great o.o clara, annabel, wantian and claudia are watching Twilight later. i would LOVE to go to relieve myself of my boredom, but i don't really fancy Twilight. it's wayy too happening for me to take part in this crazy trend. and i think it's not really a good idea to go on the screening day. imagine this: hundreds of folks, ranging from cliques to couples, rushing to queue at ___insert choice cinema here___ for Twilight ticks. then all these hundreds of folks squeezing into one darn cinema, where there'll be a whole lot of noise pollution.

besides, i'm collecting my sec 4 school books tomorrow. gahh. why's the holidays going by so quickly? after having a nice chat with jeslyn over the phonie, i'm having second thoughts about going to JC or Poly. someone help me!

omgosh i realised that the last few sentences are rhyming. cool :D

i watched Bolt twice on same days but different weeks. that show's really cute, especially rhino (although his voice gave away the cuteness.) somehow don't get why ___insert choice name here___ thought it was a dumb show. oh well. i guess people who like Twilight will ask me the same question.

if you didn't know, i didn't use the com yesterday night! haha i'm such a good kid eh? then while i was innocently in my room, stuffing my ipod earplugs into my ears, there was this loud "BOOM!" sound and my lights went out. sorta freaked out, but in the stunned way. screamed after 5 seconds, then ran to the living room. turns out one of the bulbs mini-exploded o.o my dad, being the handyman of the house, changed my light for me! thank you mr daddy! i told my grandma, "see? this is what happens when i don't use the com at night." and she burst out in laughter. hoho.

this is a seriously long post, considering that it's about totally useless stuff that happened in my oh so strange life :D

Sunday, December 14, 2008
today was like one of the most amazing days ever. i feel oddly strange, yet excited for don't know what reason. haha :D THANK YOU BIG CLARA! heehee~

i'm gonna send christmas cards through post to all my peeps ;D haha it's so traditional, with a personal touch. i think it's got much more sentimental value than presents, not to mention the amazing cost difference o.o i'm not saying that i don't want any material gifts during christmas ok? PLEASE don't be totally mistaken about that.

oh and my family will be having a christmas bungalow thingy from 23dec-26dec. it's opposite pasir ris park. there'll be a barbeque on 23rd, 24th and 25th. the barbeque on 23rd is actually for those who can't make it on other days (most people will be visiting relatives since it's christmas). my mum says "the more the merrier!" those who can make it, please inform me. gotta get the details done asap.

today, is a good day.
tonight, will be a great night.

Monday, December 8, 2008
the basic reason that i'm posting is because i realised that my peeps have been updating their blogs too. gotta keep up with the times! :D ok anyway, spent a whopping 3 hours at compass point today. went to the singtel hello shop to get my sister a new phone. guess what? she got the phone that i lost (the red model too!) it's like she's trying to rub it in that i lost my phone. and she's got the free unlimited sms to any service provider. HELLO? is it worth giving that offer to someone who only sends 10 smses per week? i'm so not GREEN-EYED! i don't even have green eyes. hmph. still 20 minutes before her phone finishes charging. i helped her charge and she went all bossy with me! oh now we've got 3 of the same chargers in my house. gahh.

ok back to the compass point trip. ate at sakura, not because the food's THAT great, but because the kopitiam was totally packed o.o anyway, the food's not that bad ;D oh and my sister bought the "hairspray" soundtrack. haha the song's are great too. went to bossini kids too! bought 2 tops from there. surprised? so am i. a MR TALL shirt and a LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD AND BIG BAD WOLF blouse. haha it's damn cute. most girls wear little miss tees, i wear mister tees. hoho. my sis bought the little red riding hood blouse too, but hers is a different colour zzz.

so that's all i did today. tomorrow, claudia dearie, noel and kaiyang (?) are coming over to do the physics project that most groups are done with already. hopefully, it will be a productive one. i shall see about that tomorrow :D

why am i blogging anyway? i don't think anyone knows that i actually updated.

"ATTENTION FRIENDS! SAM HAS UPDATED HER BLOG!"

hold on. how can they see this notice if they don't even see the blog that this notice is on? strange. it's like putting a "we are open" sign at the side of the door that's facing inside, rather than the one that's facing outside.

old habits die hard ;D

11:25 PM

Thursday, December 4, 2008
we had a majorly weird 2 diligence'07 class chalet from december 2nd to december 4th. held at costa sans pasir ris. annabel and i met at 2.30pm, then we made our way there. sorta mixed costa sans downtown with costa sans pasir ris. gahh why's everywhere around that area called costa sans? anyway, we managed to find our way with the help from saun. the place looks like a 1 storey from the ouside, but it's actually a 2 storey. hmm wonder how the architect managed to give that 1 storey illusion. haha ;D

so the chalet went on blah blah... they played xbox and black jack and other funny stuff. i just watched cuz i'm such a good kid :D heehee~ oh and i realised our class people love saying f**k. i heard this one word like over 10 times in a day. woah.

*skips to bbq night*

we had some cool barbeque last night. the guys spent over an hour trying to start a fire. don't know if it's their fault or the charcoal's fault. oh well. barbeque was kinda awesome :D ate crab stick, sausages etc. we even toasted marshmellows. really gooey stuff XD the food was either undercooked or totally chao da-ed. it was like a cancerous paradise that night. haha. sophia, annabel and i (sometimes included bernard) walked around downtown when there was nothing much to do back at the chalet. went home at 12.06am. thanks sophai's dad for fetching me and annabel home! the guys who stayed over went to some red house thingy and someone brought some thingamajig to ward off ghosts. that's super freaky ok.

oh we went to wild wild wet on that day too! it was totally awesome :D had to wear sophia's super mini shorts after that though...

right now, i'm eating a giant ball of lettuce that's meant for tomorrow's breakfast. it's nice ok! really sweet and crunchy :D oh the freshness. hopefully my mum doesn't scold me for eating breakfast so "early".

oh well, now korea trip's over, singout's over and class chalet's over. time to rot at home and be bored again. oh poo. everyday is one more day closer to the big Os! gahh 2009's not gonna be a nice and easy-going year. i envy the sec 1s. well at least i'm older and more experienced than them ;D i'm gonna miss 2 diligence'07 when we graduate from HI D:

i realised that i always end every post with 1 sentence. so this time i shall end it with 2 sentences :D

11:21 PM
