today was a super sickening day D:

let's start with this morning, shall we?
there was this totally long and draggy talk about financial issues like how to save and spend, and the speaker was somehow teaching us how to calculate compound interest and stuff like that. not that i haven't learnt it yet, but whatever, she bugged me. then while she was telling some story about jim carrey, erika came behind me and told me to do the very traditional friday school creeed. sheesh why must they always target choir people? it's not as if everyone else sings so horribly. so, fion and i waited for her talk to end.

after what seemed like hours (exaggerated), mr tong went up to talk about some trip to EUROPE! fion and i could see from the side that his hand was totally trembling, which is quite amusing as he always comes to talk about sporty stuff and house meetings etc. everyone got vey excited during the talk. me too. it sounded SO appealing because those who go get to go to 3 places (i think), that is, croatia, italy and milan. then he came to the criteria. 1st point: only sec 2s get to go. everyone was like "WTH?!" SO UNFAIR D: to make it worse, those selected get to be ambassadors to volunteer during the ACTUAL youth olympics next year! damn it. our batch didn't get such privileges. when i was sec 2, we went to china. last year's sec 2 went to australia. this year's sec 2 will be going to europe. hmm seems like our school's getting richer. the trip's only 500 bucks deducted from edusave. how unlucky to not be born 2 years later D: some sec 2s rushed to the general office to get the form! haha typical kiasu people, like auntie low :D

on the bright side, mr tong said that ineligible people like me still can sign up to be an ambassador, just that we can't go on the trip. well that's good enough for me! on monday, me, wantian and maybe huibing will ask mr tong about the applications. my mum said that they need 1000+ volunteers. hopefully we're not late. can we sign up online? that's what i'm gonna check out later.

LCE was kinda fun. we used newspapers, straws and masking tape to build a tower. the aim is to build the tallest tower. there were 5 groups and melvin's group won. well i think we did pretty well too, though we somehow ran out of masking tape and were desperate enough to pluck them off the walls, along with some blu tack :D everyone used connected straws to build up the top of the tower, and everyone's tower went "beyond" the ceiling that it had to be bent slightly. wonder how they judged the towers? this has to be the funnest LCE ever.

after LCE, mrs ganesan called us to arrange all the tables so that we were sitting in groups of 7 and the tables had to form some "U" shape thing. i don't feel really comfortable with everything now, but i should be able to adjust within a week :D by the way, mrs ganesan's gonna get shelves for us to leave some books in class! let's hope that the shelves don't break as a result of the tremendous pressure from the large number of books and scraps.

choir today was cool! towards the end, daryl stood up and pretended to make some announcement thing to stall time, then debra said that it was julien's birthday. so ms yee played the FUNERAL version of HAPPY BIRTHDAY. after that, the lights went out and fion brought in a mini cake for ms yee's birthday! LOL. julien's birthday was all a scam (: it was nice seeing so many seniors coming back :D ms liang helped us take a choir picture o.o wasn't as tough as i thought! something catastrophic happened after that - daryl dropped the mini cake on the floor! ms yee made him buy a bigger one by wednesday. YAY I LOVE CHOIR.

my legs are feeling wobbly from 4 rounds during PE D: like jello. also having a major head throb. salanne said that my brain's shrinking from lack of water.

tomorrow, i've got a compre workshop at tampines library. far. gotta rush there straight after music lesson. poo. why did mrs ng make it compulsory?! and we have to wear half-u D:

yuck, today's the last day of march holidays D: i am sad because i spent most of my holidays in school for choir/lessons etc (check out my previous post). damn it, oh so boring lessons start tomorrow. next break will be after O level chinese in june. sheesh.

on the bright side, i only have to attend biology and maths! leaving for VCH during recess time to do some sound check and rehearsal and will probably come back around 2.30pm. this means that i don't hve to attend chinese lessons tomorrow! yay :D jealous much? LOL.

watched a bit of Sweeny Todd: Demon Barber Of Fleet Street on HBO today. woo HBO's so cool :D that show's kinda gruesome and there's some singing and musical stuff (the movie was based on a musical). johnny depp can sing o.o and he threw his wife into some furnace towards the last bit. Golden Compass will be coming out in april! yay :D

noel the oxymoron can't tell the difference between comic sans and trebuchet, so much so that he accuses me for copying his msn font -.- do they really look so alike? darn. poo you.

yesterday i experience REAL fine dining for the first time. was my dad's birthday, so we went to some fancy chinese restaurant. 1st appetizer: one tiny abalone and a mess of onions and other veg and what seemed to taste like kfc's chilli. 2nd appetizer: one drunken prawn in a tonic wine kinda soup in a cup. the way we ate the subsequent dishes didn't have that sort of fine dining mannerism. haha :D my mum even dabao-ed some food back! why? because every untouched dish would cost 15 bucks o.o and why my dad ordered so much? i don't know. there, the typical kiasu singaporean traits still show even if you want to hide it :D

saw edwin goh on tv o.o LOL. no i'm not slow, actually saw him last month already, but wasn't sure whether it really was him. so now i do.

i am on a chocolate high! :D the milk chocolate with caramel/peanut butter filling bought by my parents' friend is so nice! it's not cheap.

yay hello :D yesterday was a really cool day. i am happy.

woke up at 6am to do bun. grandma and mum helped out. started at 6.15 and ended at 7am. crazy right? haha :D headed down to PHS and met adele, jan, minhan, darren ke, esther and rachel at the nearby kopitiam. reached PHS at around 8.40am, did warmups and ran through the 3 SYF songs in one of their classrooms, which is on the first floor. it's strange, because all the classrooms in HI are on 2nd floor and beyond! after running through everything, it was time to get ready to go to the hall for the exchange. the girls only at 5 mins to bun their hair. lucky i already did mine at home :D

there were 4 other schools in the hall. the composer for our Diu Diu Dang song was there too. every school sang nice songs :D we got compliments for our songs too. then there was a break, clarissa and i went to the toilet during break time. we ran up to the hall barefooted after that. sang White Horses school by school, the SAB version didn't sound very different from the SATB version, but oh well :/ oh yeah, i saw someone who looked like kezia who was behind the hall, getting ready for gymastics. at first i thought my eyes had problems, but after dismissal, she came up to me and said "hey whatsup?" like LOL. she still remembers me! cool.

met up with claudia, annabel and wantian at sengkang mrt. headed on to rivervale mall to buy the stuff for our barbeque at jingyi's place. woah like her place is super huge, somewhat like a mini castle. her sister is friendly too. took quite some time to start the fire. placed the potatoes wrapped in aluminium foil with the charcoal too. everyone had fun cooking and eating. huibing. claudia and clara were in the kitchen frying the cheese tofu, while annabel and i were doing the barbeque pit. wantian was the only one running from place to place. jingyi came home a little later after her tuition. she helped make the honey chicken in the kitchen. (chicken and kitchen LOL) ate to our hearts content :D the potatoes were sorta charred beyond recognition though, some had a strong chao da smell while others didn't. anyway, we don't like wasting food.

chilled and watched tv in the house after the barbeque. had some sprite cocktail thing too :D after that, did our traditional 7ahs sparkling juice thing. was really funny when annabel took a video of us yamsenging and doing the AH like the coke advertisement. drank from the bottle instead of cups. dad came to pick me up at 10.50. he is happy that i know how to barbeque now :D

i may look plump, but illusions are always illusions. get that straight in your head man!

hello, everyone. currently, it's not a nice march holiday.

first of all, i've gotta go back to school everyday for various reasons like choir SYF practice or lessons or whatever.

yesterday, we went back to school for chemistry lessons, which turned out quite wasted. ms zahila was sick so we started lesson at 8.15am, and all she did was go through our SPA trial paper. so we ended lesson at 8.45am o.o too bad for noel, he came at 8.30am, wasted trip. after lesson, went with huibing, wantian, annabel and clara to pastamania to eat breakfast. clara and i shared one set as we wern't really hungry. after that, annabel went off for drama while the rest of us went to the half-open hougang mall rooftop playground. it was super fun because we were doing stuff like teleporting videos and super lame piccas. anyway, :D. met dominique after that to go for lunch/brunch. we ate at 11 plus, which was really early. ate at pepper lunch while talking about randoms. haha :D slept from 1 to 5 when i got home.

this morning, we had physics SPA. the lab was filled with sounds of amazement as we entered. don't know if that's good, but i managed to finish on time! yay *relieved* not sure if my answer is correct, but fengye (the physics pro) assured me that's it's fine. i trust her sensibility :D
after that was biology lesson. finished up the mitosis/meiosis chapter. it's pretty easy, but there are still things i need to clarify. anyway, mrs ganesan already gave us notebooks to write our doubts in. biology is cool (only the theory, not practical). told mrs ganesan that i had an interest to quit music. then she mentioned some stuff about writing letters and going to see ms soh etc. got me kinda nervous but, nevermind.
music came after that. finished up kamien and did some world music. i kept on wanting to tell mrs tay about my interest to quit, but i didn't wanna spoil her birthday mood. so i kept quiet. anyway, after today's lesson, i'm still reconsidering my choice. after the long hours of thinking during the weekend, i'm still sitting on the fence.

PTM last friday was a complete WRECK. i would NOT like to talk about it, so don't ask me. only the 7ahs know about it.

speaking of 7ahs, we're having a barbeque version of the CNY steamboat this thursday! ok basically it's just a barbeque at claudia/jingyi's nest. with claudia's 3 dogs/jingyi's fancy door knobs, it'll be fun :D hopefully i won't have to get some major scolding when i get home.

this week was a whole week of SPA trial tests! i'm super sick of experiments now.

PHYSICS:
physics SPA trial was on tuesday. it was on waves (am i allowed to say out the specific topic?). anyway, there wasn't even a tense atmosphere because everyone was talking and comparing answers. mr chang also went around to answer questions. what kind of SPA is that :/ haha. anyway, i think i was QUITE accurate with my results. experiment was easy-peasy.

BIOLOGY:
biology SPA trial was yesterday. unlike the physics one, this SUCKED like crazy. everyone spent like 25 minutes just setting up the experiment. mrs ganesan was shocked. i almost cried as i couldn't really do it (but i still succeeded). at first, no one was talking and it was super scary. then, everyone started whispering to each other, and the whisper turned to talking. mrs ganesan didn't seem to mind somehow. my results were so wrong that i had to fake some values. mrs ganesan made us each take a "rigidy plastic condom" home to practise with. ok that sounded wrong but nevermind, i'm talking in code :D

CHEMISTRY:
chemistry SPA trial was just this morning after recess. ms zahila arranged for us to sit like the actual SPA assessment, which made it kind of scary. this time, we weren't allowed to talk at all. anyway, it was easy-peasy too! whee~ haha. but hopefully i got my table drawing right, because annabel and some others did it differently.

english lesson made me pissed today. first, we were expecting mrs ng to do the vocab book, but she wanted to practise oral! jingyi and i didn't bring our oral stuff at all. sheesh. next, was the passage reading bit. mrs ng called me to read, and after i read, she pintpointed so many errors. i was angry with myself. other people she called to read also had "many errors", according to her. even seowhwee, whom i thought read quite well, had errors. i know mrs ng's trying to help us to score for our oral, but she pintpoints more than praises. i was thinking to make HER read the passage and we point her errors. bet she'll feel so PS. but anyway, i'm not so mean. just felt kinda frustrated.

PTM tomorrow! gosh. i'm thinking of all the possible "what if's " now. hopefully nothing TOO bad happens.

*waves hand like a puppet and shouts a lifeless "hello!"*

feeling that annoying late-afternoon lethargy. feeling's been made worse since today's sunday. what does this mean? this means that i have to wake up before daybreak and get ready for another harrowing week of SCHOOL, which signifies a whole new week of tests! well at least it's already term 1 week 10! :D but... that tiny insignificant 7 days off following this week ain't gonna do much.

watched Beneath on HBO this morning. it's some kind of thriller show. didn't really get it because i didn't watch from the start and my earpiece was clogging my ears most of the time so i couldn't hear most of the dialogue (it was on purpose :D). my sis kept trying to tell me about the storyline but i couldn't hear anything. there were some parts that made me jump, but after watching the show, i realised that it wasn't that scary after all. in fact, i think there's some sort of life lesson that we can all learn (though i'm not sure what it is). i just KNOW there's SOMETHING.

i have started to REALLY wear my retainers, because i figured that i'm not gonna let my teeth shift back again and waste that sum of $ for the braces treatment. yes, this is called SELF-DISCIPLINE, also my brother's class name in st gabriel's primary. long name eh? haha. all right back to the retainers topic. my mouth is totally aching like crazy D: but i can really feel that my teeth have shifted back. gotta wear retainers for 2 whole months 24/7. this means that you'll see me with a weird mouth shape, salivating like mad (that's normal) and talking as if i have a short tongue. every recess, i've gotta take of my retainers and wear them again. it's all part of commitment, and clara's gonna help motivate me. she keeps saying "sam, you're not wearing your retainers right?" i reply by saying "it's painful!" and she'll start nagging at me like my mum. so, yeah, clara's gonna motivate me to wear my retainers. next appointment's on december 15 this year. darn, still got so long more.

today was a good school day :D

had all the twinning and school overseas trip presentations during assembly this morning. it was kinda cool. the shenyang twinning programme was entirely the same as the one i went to in 2007. anyway, it brought back memories :D

i am SO glad ms zahila postponed the chemistry SPA trial because the actual SPA got postponed too. really ain't prepared for SPA today. will i ever be? i don't know. *note to self: practise good time management* seriously. every minute of SPA is super crucial. good news: my hands don't tremble when i'm pouring liquids anymore :D

choir was SOOO MUCH better than wednesday :D our SYF slot is the 2nd last slot of the 1st half on the 3rd day. gettit? before us, there's dunman sec and catholic high, both gold with honours choirs o.o haha XD ms yee decided not to change Diu Diu Dang to the japanese song because she thinks it's got "potential" (as quoted). really, i think that song could really work, but only if everyone in choir focuses and thinks and be not so forgetful :/ no more audition for sec4s!

after choir, waited for szewen to collect my sister's nametag. sheesh i waited really long for girl guides to end! after getting the nametags, went with claudia to watch the SLs going for LTC + wantian play captain's ball. took a few snazzy piccas of wantian's bear and other stuff too :D love her camera! match ended at around 7pm plus. went home with wantian while claudia went to eat with rima.

and here i am now! :D

yoohoo~ again! so far, this week has been OKAY for me.

had choir audition for O Lux yesterday. ms yee was kinda upset about the whole thing. at first she gave the sec 4s special privileges and made us sing together as a section. somehow, someone pushed and the whole thing went like a tone higher than it's supposed to be. as a result, all sec 4s are gonna have to audition tomorrow. the other levels went up key too. a lot of people failed D: i think it's really wasted for those who sacrificed LTC for SYF, but now they're not in SYF, meaning they can go for LTC. sucks. ms yee also wants to change Diu Diu Dang with another japanese song, because to put it bluntly, we suck at Diu Diu Dang. SOME people just keep pushing and insisting on that note, especially all the ff parts.

today i had chinese oral after school. was the first batch for 4hum. the passage had a lot of words that i couldn't really read D: managed to get cai li lao shi! (my fave chinese teacher :D) but of course, i'm aware that O level oral examiners won't be so lenient. as such, i'm gonna start practising CHINESE. passage was about some housewife winning some trophy, and the conversation (most hated) was about school bullies. cai li lao shi helped me to rephrase some of my sentences during oral. guess i screwed after all D:

SPA coming up soon. teachers (especially chem) are drilling us for it. in primary school, i used to love experiments because i thought they were fun. now, they're just boring and tedious.

i can never understand singapore's education system. why are we studying things like vectors and graph functions and differentiation? there's totally no link at all. they are siao people :/

clara/claudia says i like tiny guys (still taller than me) who are younger than me. still don't understand why they said that. even though i'm not very tall and don't look like a sec 4, this is ridiculous o.o HAHH.

yoohoo everybody! (yes this will be my new style of greeting... the guniang way) anyway, i am so proud to annouce that... *drumroll please*... i have just witnessed another double rainbow today! saw it went i was going home with claudia, and we were like "woah!" it's so AWESOME ok! imagine seeing a rainbow last friday, and then another one today! it's like... becoming a norm now. i am so smart because i actually predicted the rainbow :D

ok can't say very much. would just like to comment on english lesson today. mrs ng gave a super weird assignment: we were supposed to construct paragraphs and sentences with vocab words that we found. since the topic that jingyi and i picked was "occupation", we had a lot of career words ("career" is one of them too!). you know what's the first thing that came to our minds?

he is a doctor. he helps to cure sick people.
she is a florist. she arranges and sells flowers.
i am a ventriloquist. i can talk and you won't even know i'm talking.

:D what more can we say?

yep so that's pretty much for today. now i gotta scooter off and do that stupid geography assignment and all my other stupid homework.

p.s i don't have to attend maths/english afternoon programme anymore.
