today was a super sickening day D:let's start with this morning, shall we?
there was this totally long and draggy talk about financial issues like how to save and spend, and the speaker was somehow teaching us how to calculate compound interest and stuff like that. not that i haven't learnt it yet, but whatever, she bugged me. then while she was telling some story about jim carrey, erika came behind me and told me to do the very traditional friday school creeed. sheesh why must they always target choir people? it's not as if everyone else sings so horribly. so, fion and i waited for her talk to end.
after what seemed like hours (exaggerated), mr tong went up to talk about some trip to EUROPE! fion and i could see from the side that his hand was totally trembling, which is quite amusing as he always comes to talk about sporty stuff and house meetings etc. everyone got vey excited during the talk. me too. it sounded SO appealing because those who go get to go to 3 places (i think), that is, croatia, italy and milan. then he came to the criteria. 1st point: only sec 2s get to go. everyone was like "WTH?!" SO UNFAIR D: to make it worse, those selected get to be ambassadors to volunteer during the ACTUAL youth olympics next year! damn it. our batch didn't get such privileges. when i was sec 2, we went to china. last year's sec 2 went to australia. this year's sec 2 will be going to europe. hmm seems like our school's getting richer. the trip's only 500 bucks deducted from edusave. how unlucky to not be born 2 years later D: some sec 2s rushed to the general office to get the form! haha typical kiasu people, like auntie low :D
on the bright side, mr tong said that ineligible people like me still can sign up to be an ambassador, just that we can't go on the trip. well that's good enough for me! on monday, me, wantian and maybe huibing will ask mr tong about the applications. my mum said that they need 1000+ volunteers. hopefully we're not late. can we sign up online? that's what i'm gonna check out later.
LCE was kinda fun. we used newspapers, straws and masking tape to build a tower. the aim is to build the tallest tower. there were 5 groups and melvin's group won. well i think we did pretty well too, though we somehow ran out of masking tape and were desperate enough to pluck them off the walls, along with some blu tack :D everyone used connected straws to build up the top of the tower, and everyone's tower went "beyond" the ceiling that it had to be bent slightly. wonder how they judged the towers? this has to be the funnest LCE ever.
after LCE, mrs ganesan called us to arrange all the tables so that we were sitting in groups of 7 and the tables had to form some "U" shape thing. i don't feel really comfortable with everything now, but i should be able to adjust within a week :D by the way, mrs ganesan's gonna get shelves for us to leave some books in class! let's hope that the shelves don't break as a result of the tremendous pressure from the large number of books and scraps.
choir today was cool! towards the end, daryl stood up and pretended to make some announcement thing to stall time, then debra said that it was julien's birthday. so ms yee played the FUNERAL version of HAPPY BIRTHDAY. after that, the lights went out and fion brought in a mini cake for ms yee's birthday! LOL. julien's birthday was all a scam (: it was nice seeing so many seniors coming back :D ms liang helped us take a choir picture o.o wasn't as tough as i thought! something catastrophic happened after that - daryl dropped the mini cake on the floor! ms yee made him buy a bigger one by wednesday. YAY I LOVE CHOIR.
my legs are feeling wobbly from 4 rounds during PE D: like jello. also having a major head throb. salanne said that my brain's shrinking from lack of water.
tomorrow, i've got a compre workshop at tampines library. far. gotta rush there straight after music lesson. poo. why did mrs ng make it compulsory?! and we have to wear half-u D:
